# Telangana to give 1.19 lakh free sewing machines to BC women

Telangana launched the Intinta Indiramma Kuttu Machinlu scheme on Thursday, offering 1.19 lakh automatic sewing machines free of cost to BC women. Each machine costs Rs 12,000 and comes with a 100% subsidy. The first phase will distribute 1,000 machines per Assembly constituency, covering all 119 seats. Applications open from August 15 to September 15. Priority goes to the poorest, widows, single women, homeless, orphans, disabled persons, and those with tailoring experience. Beneficiaries must undergo training. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the selection process will be transparent.
