# Chandigarh property issues stuck as Tewari flags no progress

Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari has criticised the union territory administration for making no headway on key property issues he raised in Lok Sabha. In a response to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the administration said share-wise property sales remain banned after a Supreme Court ruling, a proposal for ownership rights in rehabilitation colonies covering nearly 2 lakh residents has been sent to the MHA, and there is no plan to extend Lal Dora limits to 22 villages. Separately, the UT is looking to acquire about 1,750 acres in the periphery at an estimated cost of Rs 14,000 crore for residential, institutional and commercial development. Farmers from 22 villages want a land-pooling policy on the Punjab and Haryana model, and a draft policy is under consultation.
