# Thailand school shooting leaves seven dead and 15 wounded

Seven people, including the suspected student gunman, were killed and 15 wounded in a shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School near Bangkok on Friday, Thai police said, according to The Hindu. Police said the teenager first killed his grandparents at home, using his grandfather’s handgun, then shot three teachers and three students at the school before dying by suicide. Fifteen students were hurt while fleeing and were not hit by gunfire, Thailand’s deputy interior minister told Thai PBS. The school is in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province. Police said 26 rounds were fired and 34 more rounds were found at the scene. The motive remains under investigation. Early reports cited by Reuters and other outlets gave lower casualty figures, reflecting the changing situation. The school had about 3,100 students and 147 teachers in the 2025 academic year.
