# Vijay’s son Jason says actor backed his filmmaking choice

Actor Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay has revealed that his father was the first to support his decision to study filmmaking abroad. In an interview with Telugu anchor Suma, Jason said Vijay did not hesitate when he expressed a wish to go overseas, become independent and pursue a filmmaking course. “He actually understood the importance of it,” Jason said. Vijay told him to use the course to discover whether filmmaking was truly his calling. Jason, who appeared as a child artist in his father’s 2009 film Vettaikaaran, is now making his directorial debut with Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and slated for an August release. He described his mother Sangeetha as his biggest cheerleader and said his bond with his sister strengthened over distance.
