# The Paradise OTT cut shorter by 23 to 24 minutes 2026-10-22T16:16:07+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 10 independent outlets Nani's film 'The Paradise' began streaming on Netflix on 22 October in five languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The OTT version is 23 to 24 minutes shorter than the theatrical cut, which ran about 2 hours 53 to 54 minutes, according to multiple sources. The Indian Express and Hindustan Times report a 24-minute reduction to about 2 hours 30 minutes, while Times Now says 23 minutes were trimmed. Greatandhra, however, states the runtime is 2 hours 50 minutes with only one scene removed. The most notable change is the removal of Sonali Kulkarni's dance sequence during the Dhoomavathi fight, which was heavily trolled on social media. The Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Times Now and Greatandhra confirm this edit. The Indian Express adds that the digital cut also tones down violence, improves visual effects and slows down the end credits, changes that Nani reportedly oversaw personally. The film, directed by Srikanth Odela, earned about Rs 173 crore worldwide in theatres after opening at Rs 76 crore. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Coverage is split on the extent of the OTT cuts: Greatandhra says only the Dhumavathi dance was removed, whereas The Indian Express, Hindustan Times and Times Now report 23 to 24 minutes of trims including violence and pacing fixes. The former outlet frames the changes as minimal, while the latter group emphasises a direct response to theatrical criticism. M9.news, which does not report runtime figures, leads on potential social media backlash. The Indian Express alone states Nani oversaw the re-editing, adding a layer of agency absent from other accounts. The balanced reading is that at least one scene was definitely cut, the wider trim figure depends on which source's count one trusts, and no source confirms official word from the makers. ## Coverage Coverage: 10 sources, 9 neutral, 1 sensationalist - m9.news (sensationalist) Focuses on anticipated trolling and actor's career setback - tracktollywood.com (neutral report) Straight factual announcement of OTT release with technical details - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Reports OTT details and cast without editorialising - telugucinema.com (neutral report) States runtime close to theatrical, one scene deleted - filmibeat.com (neutral report) Lists OTT availability and cast without criticism - indianexpress.com (neutral report) Detailed factual report on specific edits and VFX upgrades - timesnownews.com (neutral report) Reports 23-minute cut and scene removals with quotes - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Covers changes and Nani's remarks factually - greatandhra.com (neutral report) Claims only one scene cut, contradicts larger trim reports - newindianexpress.com (neutral report) Promotional synopsis of plot and cast, no OTT changes mentioned This brief was synthesised by AI from the 10 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
