# Three JPSC members resign as Jharkhand exam protest continues

The three serving members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission resigned on Sunday amid massive protests over alleged recruitment exam irregularities. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar accepted the resignations of Dr Ajita Bhattacharya, Dr Anima Hansda and Dr Jamal Ahmed after a recommendation from the state government. The resignations came as the CID had summoned them for questioning between August 10 and 14. Nineteen people have been arrested so far, including employees of private agency TDPL and former JPSC chairperson L Khiangte, who resigned last month. The government has agreed to cancel the 14th JPSC examination but students are still demanding a CBI probe and cancellation of the JSSC-CGL exam. Two rounds of talks have failed, and protesters plan a march to the Jharkhand Assembly on August 10.
