Three persons including a teenager died in two road accidents in Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts on Sunday night.
Police said financier Chozhavan, 55, of Maavadikkaal near Kadayanallur was going to Nagercoil on his bike on Sunday night. When he was crossing Kalingapatti intersection between Surandai and Veerkeralampudhur, another bike coming in the opposite direction hit Chozhavan’s two-wheeler in which the financier died on the spot while K. Vinodh Kumar, 26, of Veerakeralampudur and his friend M. Vignesh, 16, who were occupying another bike, suffered grievous injuries.
Even though the Veerakeralampudur police rushed the injured to the hospital immediately, Vignesh died on the way to the hospital and Vinodh Kumar is undergoing treatment.
Veerakeralampudur police had registered a case.
In another accident, A. Nazir, 30, of Melapalayam was killed while his friend and pillion rider M. Pathusha, 23, of the same area suffered serious injuries when an unidentified vehicle hit the duo’s bike near Kozhumadai on Ambasamudram Road on Sunday night when they were returning home from Vickramasingapuram.
Munneerpallam police had registered a case.
