The deceased, Abrar Khan, 28, his brother Khalid, 24, and their uncle Fazru, 55, were from Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said the tractor became unbalanced while being taken empty to load wheat straw. Local residents alleged that multiple potholes on the road have caused earlier accidents too, yet no repairs have been done. ASI Karambir Singh of Karnal police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
