# Trai proposes 5G network slicing rules to protect all users

Trai has proposed that if a 5G cell is over 80% loaded during peak hours on five days in a month, operators must add capacity. If they cannot reduce loading within 30 days, those cells must be removed from network slicing. The draft quality-of-service rules aim to prevent premium 5G lanes from degrading standard users’ internet. Bharti Airtel launched Fastlane for postpaid users in May, and added 1 million postpaid subscribers in the June quarter.
