# Tripura CM allots land to CWG gold medallist Asmita Dey

Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Wednesday handed over land allotment documents and a cheque for Rs 10 lakh to Commonwealth Games gold medallist Asmita Dey. The 23-year-old judoka became the first Indian to win a judo gold at the Games, triumphing in the women's 48kg category in Glasgow. Saha said Dey had requested a house in Agartala during a meeting in Delhi, and the government fulfilled that promise. Dey hails from a village in South Tripura. Her father worked as a cycle mechanic. The chief minister urged her to stay disciplined and cautious about food ahead of the Asian Games, citing strict anti-doping rules. Sports minister Tinku Roy and gymnast Dipa Karmakar were among those who attended the ceremony.
