Actor Trisha Krishnan attended Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s first Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at Fort St George in Chennai on August 15. She was seated alongside Vijay’s parents, SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekhar, with videos and photographs from the event circulating online. Vijay, who took office three months ago, spoke about unity, equality and removing caste and religious divisions. He also referred to his government’s early decisions, including waiving farmers’ crop loans and closing 717 TASMAC liquor shops, according to GreatAndhra.
