# Trump Denies Hegseth Rift as Reports Cite US Missile Shortages

US President Donald Trump has denied reports of a confrontation with War Secretary Pete Hegseth over shortages of missiles and air-defence interceptors during the conflict with Iran. Trump said he was extremely happy with Hegseth’s performance and claimed the US had massive amounts of munitions, with more being produced and shipped. He also threatened long prison sentences for military leakers. The Washington Post, cited by India Today, reported that Trump questioned Hegseth at Camp David about dwindling supplies and believed the issue had been resolved. CNN separately reported that the US had used nearly 80 per cent of its THAAD interceptors and around half its Patriot interceptors. The White House and Pentagon called the reports false.
