Mundhe took charge on May 25 and has led raids against manufacturers, wholesalers, eateries and retailers over adulteration, hygiene and licensing violations. The FDA has also acted against an alleged abortion-medicine racket in Nagpur and Solapur, with cases filed against eight people, PTI reported. The department has directed schools to replace fast food with nutritious options and begun food-safety and nutrition training in about 300 schools.
