# Two Army Bomb Disposal Personnel Injured in Poonch Blast

Two rusted mortar shells were found and destroyed in Poonch’s Mankote sector on Thursday, officials said. The shells were located in the forested Choki Sagra area and disposed of in a controlled explosion. Greater Kashmir reports that no one was injured and no property was damaged in the operation. The Times of India reports that two Army Bomb Disposal Squad personnel were injured late Wednesday when an old landmine exploded as they tried to defuse it in Mendhar. They received first aid and were taken to Rajouri Army Hospital. The Army said patrolling personnel had detected the mine. Landmines in forward areas along the Line of Control can shift after heavy rain, threatening soldiers, residents and livestock.
