The Elamakkara police arrested two brothers on Sunday on the charge of assaulting two people at a hair salon in Karukappilly.
The siblings, who were arrested on charges including attempted murder, have been identified as Muhammed Bilal, 22, and Muhammed Binyamin, 20, from Mamangalam. A third suspect is absconding.
The victims of the assault, who hailed from Punalur in Kollam, were sitting in the salon when the brothers and the third youth attacked them after reportedly asking why they were staring at them. One of the assailants also allegedly damaged the shop’s CCTV camera, which police suspect was an attempt to destroy evidence.
