The Sadashivanagar police nabbed a 33-year-old accountant of a private firm and his associate,for allegedly smoking ganja at the Palace Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
The duo, identified as Dheeraj Ghorpade and his friend Adarsh, a private firm employee, had parked their scooter and were allegedly smoking when a team of police led by Inspector Girish B.P. arrived at the place.
The police found 44g of ganja and two bundles of rolling papers from the boot space of the scooter.
The police said that the duo allegedly confessed to purchasing purchased the drugs from a peddler. An investigation into this is under way, they added.
