The crash occurred in the Salempur area as the moped crossed the road. India Today reports that the SUV bore the word “Magistrate” and was travelling from Hathras towards Sikandra Rao. Police identified the deceased as 56-year-old Subhash Chandra and his grandson Daksh. The injured man, Sonu, 38, was taken to Bagla District Hospital and referred to a higher medical centre. Police said the driver fled. A witness alleged the vehicle was speeding and that the officer in it did not help the injured.
