# Uber adds 100 Indian cities with bike taxi push

Uber has launched its bike taxi service in 100 new Indian cities, expanding its total footprint to 225 cities across 18 states and one union territory. The rollout targets smaller towns, from Jammu in the north to Tirunelveli in the south, and Silchar in the east to Jamnagar in the west. Union minister Nitin Gadkari welcomed the move and urged states to adopt the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines 2025. The expansion pits Uber directly against Rapido, which dominates the segment with nearly 60% market share in about 400 cities. Uber reported a net loss of Rs 1,511 crore in FY25, almost 15 times the previous year's loss.
