Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries killed at least 12 people, Russian authorities said, while Ukraine’s military claimed it struck the Ryazan refinery, setting it on fire. The conflicting reports emerged hours after President Zelenskyy met US President Donald Trump. In Tatarstan, mayor Radmir Belyaev said 12 died and 39 were injured when drones hit the Nizhnekamsk area, including the TANECO refinery run by Tatneft. The plant processed 1.7 crore tonnes of crude in 2024. Ukraine has intensified strikes on Russian energy infrastructure to disrupt fuel supplies.
