# UNESCO and Coursera launch free AI ethics course

UNESCO and Coursera have launched a free nine-hour course on the ethics of artificial intelligence, developed with LG AI Research, Hindustan Times reports. The Global MOOC on the Ethics of AI is aimed at university students, researchers, policymakers, technology leaders and other learners, with no advanced technical knowledge required. Available in 11 languages, including Hindi, the course uses hands-on projects to examine privacy, transparency, sustainability and human autonomy. It also covers ethical risks, competing priorities and decisions about how AI is designed, used and governed. Course material draws on contributors from institutions including Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Toronto and the Alan Turing Institute. UNESCO said the programme seeks to turn its AI ethics principles into practical decisions and policies.
