# UP man arrested in Karnataka for following anti-national social media accounts

Kalaburagi police on Wednesday arrested Mohammed Sameer (23), a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly following Pakistan-linked social media accounts and interacting with their administrators. The arrest followed surveillance of his Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp activity over several days. A case was registered at the University Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police seized his mobile phone for forensic analysis and are investigating the nature of his contacts. City Police Commissioner Dr Sharanappa SD said the other person initially detained was released after no suspicious activity was found against him.
