Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case against Maulana Sajid Rashidi, president of the All India Imam Association, for allegedly making objectionable remarks about Kanwariyas. The case was filed at Civil Lines police station in Muzaffarnagar based on a complaint by Hindu activist Narendra Panwar, who accused Rashidi of insulting Hindu religious beliefs and hurting community sentiments.
