Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district suspended headmaster Rajesh Kumar and assistant teacher Vinod Kumar on Tuesday after an inquiry confirmed complaints about poor mid-day meal quality at Primary School Kotra. The action followed a viral video showing the food served to students. The inquiry found irregularities in meal arrangements, though it emerged that Vinod Kumar had recorded the video amid a prior dispute with the headmaster. Basic Shiksha Adhikari Prabhat Mishra ordered the suspensions. Notices were also issued to the school cooks, and the block education officer and district coordinator for the mid-day meal programme have been asked to explain lapses in inspection and monitoring.
