She accuses husband Rakesh Kumar Saroj, mother-in-law Rita Devi and brother-in-law Brijesh Kumar Saroj of assault on the night of August 10 while she was two months pregnant. She says she was left unconscious and bleeding near Gosai Bazar around 4 am. Passersby alerted her family, who took her to the district hospital. The police have registered charges under five sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including assault and criminal intimidation. Superintendent of Police Abhinav Tyagi said Rakesh had allegedly doubted his wife's character and harassed her for five years, refusing to accept their two children and the unborn child as his.
