# UP Sainik School registrations open until 25 October 2026 2026-10-16T12:16:50+00:00 | Governance | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Registrations for class 6 and class 9 admissions to UP Sainik Schools for the academic session 2027-28 are now open. The UP Sainik School Society has invited applications for Capt Manoj Kumar Pandey UP Sainik School, Lucknow, and Sainik School, Gorakhpur. Applicants can apply online at upsainikschool.org until 5 pm on 25 October without a late fee, or until 31 October with a late fee of Rs 2,000. Children of both military personnel and general citizens who are Uttar Pradesh residents are eligible. For class 6 admission, a child must have been born between 2 July 2015 and 1 January 2018 and must have passed class 5. For class 9, birth must be between 2 July 2012 and 1 January 2015 and the child must have passed class 8. Children studying in classes 5 or 8 may also apply. Admission will be based on an entrance exam tentatively scheduled for 20 December 2026. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The registration window for UP Sainik Schools runs until 25 October, which leaves roughly nine days for parents to apply. Two schools are accepting entries for classes 6 and 9, though the source does not specify the total number of seats available, leaving families unable to gauge competition. The entrance exam on 20 December will decide admissions, but the source names no cut-off marks or reservation quotas, which could affect how general versus military families plan their applications. The late fee of Rs 2,000 until 31 October offers a second chance, but no information is given on how many candidates typically apply or the success rate, leaving the real difficulty of admission unmeasured. ## Coverage - tv9hindi.com Straight reporting of eligibility, dates, and process This brief was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
