# Uttar Pradesh trains 375 master trainers for pre-primary education overhaul

The Uttar Pradesh government has completed training 375 Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) core group members and master trainers across all 75 districts, officials announced on Friday. The seven residential training batches, held at the Deendayal Upadhyaya State Institute of Rural Development in Lucknow from July 6 to July 31, focused on play-based and activity-based learning methods. The trained master trainers will now lead teacher capacity development at district and block levels. Meanwhile, the government claims its 'Operation Kayakalp' has transformed 1.32 lakh council schools, with saturation levels rising from 36% in 2017-18 to 96.30% currently. Officials also plan to establish 150 Chief Minister Model Composite Schools offering pre-primary to Class 12 education. The initiative aims to align with the National Education Policy-2020's emphasis on early childhood education.
