Two US Army soldiers died when an AH-64E Apache attack helicopter crashed near Salado, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon during a routine training flight. The helicopter, based at Fort Hood, went down in Bell County around 1.30 pm local time, sparking a grass fire that remained uncontained into the afternoon, the Bell County Sheriff's Office said. The two crew members were pronounced dead at the scene. No homes or structures were damaged, and Fort Hood's criminal investigation division is probing the crash.
