Renu Dhariyal, a woman from Uttarakhand, has set the Guinness World Record for the longest hair on a living person (female). Her hair measures 271.50 cm, or 8 feet 10 inches. The record was officially verified and announced on August 7, 2026. Dhariyal joins other Indians with unusual Guinness records. Smita Srivastava previously held the female longest-hair record with 236.22 cm (7 ft 9 in) in 2023. Nilanshu Patel of Gujarat once held the record for a teenager. Other Indian record holders include Ram Singh Chauhan for the longest moustache and Chandre Oram for the longest human tail.
