# Vaibhav Sooryavanshi dazzles in nets ahead of 2nd T20I 2026-10-08T18:01:24+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets Fifteen-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and local favourite Ishan Kishan impressed during India's optional practice session in Ranchi on Thursday, 8 October, ahead of the second T20I against West Indies on Friday, 9 October. Sooryavanshi repeatedly cleared the boundary, drawing attention from policemen, spectators and media, as reported by NDTV, Rediff and India Today. Kishan, playing at his home ground, attacked spinners and sent several balls into the stands. India lead the five-match series 1-0 and aim for a 2-0 lead. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, who struggled in the first game, was rested from optional practice. Skipper Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav were also absent. Assistant coach Sitanshu Kotak praised Kishan's maturity since his return from a disciplinary layoff, noting he now plays according to the team's needs. ## Indian Opinion Analysis All three outlets led with Sooryavanshi's explosive net session, but only Rediff detailed Ishan Kishan's comeback story and coach Sitanshu Kotak's praise, while NDTV and India Today focused more on the teenager's spectacle. Rediff also included bowling concerns around Mayank Yadav's rest, which NDTV and India Today omitted. The coverage is uniform in describing Sooryavanshi's strokeplay as the main attraction, differing only in the depth given to Kishan's narrative and team strategy. India will play the second T20I in Ranchi on Friday, 9 October. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 3 neutral - ndtv.com (neutral report) Led with Sooryavanshi's net session, briefly mentioned Kishan - rediff.com (neutral report) Detailed Kishan's comeback, Kotak's praise, and bowling concerns - indiatoday.in (neutral report) Focused on Sooryavanshi's spectacle, also covered Kishan's homecoming This brief was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
