Corroboration: 4 independent outlets

Filmmaker Venkatesh Maha on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, unveiled the title and first-look poster of his upcoming film Attahaasam, which is set for a Summer 2027 release. The film, described by the makers as a ‘real, rooted and authentic entertainer’, returns to the Kancharapalem setting of Maha’s acclaimed debut C/O Kancharapalem. The first-look poster shows four characters: Venkatesh Maha in a police avatar alongside Sravanthi Peepakayala, and Karthik Ratnam with Pavani Karanam. Maha has written and directed the film and also plays a lead role. Smaran Sai is the music composer. The film is presented by Chinta Varalaxmi and produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy and Rajashekar Reddy Chinta under Srichakraas Entertainments, with Chinta Vineesha Reddy as co-producer.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

All four outlets report the same facts: title reveal, first-look poster, cast, crew and Summer 2027 release. M9.news and greatandhra.com lead with the Kancharapalem connection, framing the film as a return to Maha’s roots. 123telugu.com mentions the polarising reception of Maha’s previous film Rao Bahadur, a detail the other three skip. Cinemaexpress.com notes the production house Srichakraas Entertainment previously backed the blockbuster KA, adding a commercial angle. None of the outlets carry an overt political or editorial slant. The differences are limited to which background detail each chooses to foreground. The uniform coverage suggests the announcement itself is straightforward, with no controversy or divergent claims. The next concrete item is the Summer 2027 release date named by all sources.
