Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have spoken about the difficulty actors face when uncomfortable with revealing costumes or certain scenes, during their appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 9. Their conversation comes amid the controversy over Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal in the Telugu film Peddi, which drew criticism for camera angles and a scene involving a kiss without consent. Rashmika said she understands commercial films may demand revealing outfits but is not comfortable with ‘exposing and skin show’. Vijay noted that actors can feel pressured because they have already signed a film and worry about being seen as unprofessional. Both called for a support system that makes it easier for performers to say no.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Both Hindustan Times and The Indian Express give straight, neutral coverage of the same Koffee With Karan episode, leading with Rashmika’s comments on setting boundaries and Vijay’s remarks on professional pressure. Neither outlet adds editorial judgement or omits the other’s quotes, the difference is one of emphasis only. Hindustan Times includes fuller quotes from Rashmika about commercial-film costumes and the alleged leaked messages, while The Indian Express frames the episode around Janhvi’s vulnerability as an outsider to Telugu cinema. The balanced reading: both outlets report the couple’s views without taking sides, and the story remains a discussion about industry norms, not an endorsement of any position. No next step is named, the debate over Peddi’s depiction remains open.
