# Vinay Kumar appointed Karnataka senior men’s team head coach

Former India pacer R Vinay Kumar has been appointed head coach of the Karnataka senior men's cricket team for the 2026-27 domestic season, the KSCA announced on Thursday. Vinay, the leading wicket-taker among seamers in Ranji Trophy history with 442 scalps, replaces Yere Goud. He captained Karnataka to a double treble of Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2013-14 and 2014-15. The KSCA also named Deepak Chougule as senior men's fielding coach and appointed coaches across all age-group men's and women's teams. Vinay said his goal is to create a good culture and bring back domestic honours, especially the Ranji Trophy, to Karnataka.
