# Vinod Prabhakar thanks Sonal Monteiro for Rolex role 2026-08-23T10:53:56+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Vinod Prabhakar has credited actor Sonal Monteiro for bringing him on board the upcoming Kannada film Rolex. The actor said Sonal is the reason he got the opportunity to play an important part in the movie, which he believes will be a film the whole family can watch together. This is his second collaboration with Monteiro after Maadeva. The film stars Komal Kumar and Sonal Monteiro in lead roles, blending comedy, romance and suspense. It also features Achyuth Kumar, Aruna Balaraj, Naveen Padil and Rana. The teaser of Rolex was recently released, offering a glimpse of Komal Kumar in a different role. Monteiro, who is paired with Komal in the film, said she has taken on a character she has never attempted before. She described working with Komal as a great learning experience and expressed interest in collaborating with him again. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Vinod Prabhakar and Sonal Monteiro have previously shared screen space in Maadeva, which released in 2023. The casting of Vinod in a special role suggests Rolex is aiming for broader audience pull. The film's blend of genres indicates the makers are trying to differentiate it in a crowded Kannada market. The teaser's reception and the film's eventual box office performance will determine if this strategy works. The release date of Rolex has not been announced yet. ## Coverage - cinemaexpress.com Reports casting and actor quotes without sensationalism or editorialising.
