The pact was signed at the International Transport Summit in Moscow to support knowledge exchange and urban planning. Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is piloting Project SARTHI, an AI-based traffic system using number-plate recognition, facial recognition and red-light violation detection at selected junctions. It is also assessing electric rapid transit between Pendurthi Junction and Convent Junction. Other plans include signal-free junctions, online birth and death certificates, cycling and heritage walking tracks, and 60 theme parks.
