# Vishwak Sen’s Cult gets adult-only CBFC certificate 2026-10-28T15:01:15+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Vishwak Sen's upcoming slasher film, Cult, has been awarded an 'A' (Adults Only) certificate by the CBFC ahead of its theatrical release on 30 October. 123telugu.com reports the certification came as no surprise given the promotional content, while m9.news states the film has also received several cuts and mutes from censors. Produced by Sandeep Kakarala and directed by Vishwak Sen, the film has a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The makers claim the bloodshed in the film will be at another level. The cast includes Gayatri Bharadwaj, Murali Sharma, Tarak Ponnappa and Srikanth Iyengar, with music by Ravi Basrur. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both outlets confirm the 'A' certificate for Cult, but their framings diverge. 123telugu.com treats the adult rating as routine, noting no surprise given the promotional material, and adds a neutral wait-and-see about possible cuts. m9.news, by contrast, leads with the violent content and reports that several cuts and mutes have already been applied, highlighting the film's attempt at a genre new to Indian cinema. The balanced reading is that the certification and cuts are confirmed, but the degree of bloodshed remains a matter of promotion versus censor action. The film releases on 30 October. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Straightforward report on certification and release details - m9.news (sensationalist) Emphasises intense violence and genre novelty This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
