# Vivo V80 review: Rs 62,999 camera phone, Zeiss-engineered 2026-10-22T16:26:33+00:00 | Technology | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 3 independent outlets The Vivo V80, launched in India on October 6 and on sale from October 13, is being reviewed as a capable camera-focused mid-range smartphone. PetaPixel highlights its impressive Zeiss-engineered cameras, while Deccan Herald calls it a capable performer with an impressive camera. The Economic Times, however, focuses on its starting price of Rs 62,999, questioning whether it justifies the higher tag amid rising component costs. The device features a 6.59-inch AMOLED 1.5K display with 144Hz refresh rate, a 7,200mAh battery, IP68/IP69 rating, and runs OriginOS 7 on Android 17. It comes in three storage variants: 8GB/128GB at Rs 62,999, 8GB/256GB at Rs 69,999, and 8GB/512GB at Rs 79,999. Available colours are Horizon Blue, Sunrise Anthem, and Stellar Black. Vivo is India's leading smartphone brand by shipment volume. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Coverage of the Vivo V80 is largely uniform in factual reporting. PetaPixel takes a sensationalist angle, leading with 'impressive Zeiss-engineered cameras' and a gallery to drive clicks. The Economic Times provides a more critical framing, making the Rs 62,999 price tag the central question, while Deccan Herald delivers a straight review noting it as a capable performer. All sources agree on the device's camera focus and specifications, but differ on emphasis: one leads with hype, one with value-for-money analysis, and one with neutral description. The balanced reading is that the V80 is a strong camera phone but enters a more competitive price bracket, leaving buyers to weigh the photography features against the higher cost. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 2 neutral, 1 sensationalist - petapixel.com (sensationalist) Leads with 'impressive' camera hype, gallery focus - deccanherald.com (neutral report) Straight review with performance and camera focus - economictimes.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Review structured around price-value question This brief was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
