Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s scheduled visit to Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in Kerala stands called off after the helicopter carrying him and his wife, Sudesh Dhankhar, had to fly back to the Kochi airport owing to inclement weather.

Mr. Dhankhar and wife had left for the temple from the helipad of hotel Grand Hyatt on Monday (July 7, 2025) morning. As per the Public Relations and Information department, Mr. Dhankhar will rest at the airport before heading to the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) at Kalamassery by road. He is set to interact with the students there around 11 a.m. He is expected to fly back to Delhi from the Kochi airport around 12.55 p.m.

All arrangements had been made in the Guruvayur temple and in the larger temple town ahead of the Vice President’s visit.

Public entry to the temple and functions such as marriages were restricted for a two-hour window when the Vice President was supposed to be at the temple. Traffic and parking near the temple were also restricted. His helicopter was supposed to land on a college ground nearby.

Mr. Dhankhar had reached Kochi for a two-day visit on Sunday (July 6).
