# Awarapan 2 trailer released, film cleared for August 14 release

The trailer for Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 was released on August 6, nearly 19 years after the original film. Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, while Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Puran Gabbi join the cast. The trailer features revenge, action and music but reveals little about the plot, Hindustan Times reports. The CBFC granted the film a U/A 16+ certificate on August 5 after cuts totalling about four minutes and replacements of around 20 seconds. The final runtime is 2 hours, 20 minutes and 20 seconds. Cinema Express reports that actor Wamiqa Gabbi praised her brother Puran’s casting as antagonist Zorawar, saying he secured the role through his own audition. The film releases in cinemas on August 14.
