Bollywood Hungama reports that producer Nidhi Dutta has said the 1997 war film Border trends every Independence Day because “it speaks from the heart, not from a trend”. Directed by J.P. Dutta, the film dramatises the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Its song Sandese Aate Hain remains a staple of patriotic programming. Dutta, the director’s daughter and co-writer of the upcoming Border 2, said the film returns “like a memory we all share”.
