The proposed support could be linked to manufacturers’ export turnover or rupees per megawatt for five to seven years. The association has also sought export finance and credit for domestic buyers. The industry body wants incentives for Indian production of large bearings and flanges used in bigger turbines. It says platforms of 3 to 3.5 MW are 80 to 85% indigenous, while larger platforms depend on imported forging facilities and specialised high-strength steel.
