# Xiaomi 17 price slashed to Rs 59,999 in Amazon festive sale 2026-10-06T03:32:18+00:00 | Technology | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Amazon's Great Indian Festival sale, starting 6 October, offers the Xiaomi 17 flagship smartphone at Rs 59,999, nearly half its launch price of Rs 89,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. The 12GB+512GB variant, originally Rs 99,999, is also listed at a discount on the sale page, according to Aaj Tak. In a separate move, Xiaomi has increased the price of the Xiaomi 17T 5G by Rs 5,000 across both variants, effective 1 October 2026. The 12GB+256GB model now costs Rs 69,999 and the 12GB+512GB model Rs 74,999, reports Prabhat Khabar. The company has updated the new prices on its official website and Amazon. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The two outlets cover entirely different products from the same brand. Aaj Tak leads with an Amazon sale deal on the Xiaomi 17, framing it as a spectacular half-price offer, while Prabhat Khabar reports a Rs 5,000 price hike on the Xiaomi 17T 5G, framing it as a consumer shock. Neither story acknowledges the other's event. A balanced reading requires treating them as independent developments: a discount on one model and a price increase on another. The only actionable takeaway is that both variants have new prices effective from 1 October and 6 October respectively, as stated in the sources. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 government-critical, 1 neutral - aajtak.in (neutral report) Straightforward deal announcement with specs - prabhatkhabar.com (government critical) Frames price hike as a shock to customers This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
