Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow Productions have announced Nayyi Navelli, a fantasy family entertainer starring Yami Gautam, releasing in cinemas on October 16, 2026, ahead of Dussehra. Directed by Balaji Mohan produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, the film follows a picture-perfect bride who turns a chaotic Meerut household into paradise, only for her brother-in-law to suspect she may be a daayan (witch). The motion poster, released this week, shows Yami in a dual avatar of a newlywed bride and an eerie supernatural presence. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar Yami's husband shared the poster on social media with the caption "So this is what I married into!!" The film, written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma with music by G V Prakash Kumar, blends family comedy, fantasy and adventure.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Koimoi.com leads with a dramatic framing, "daayan" (witch) and "suspicion", playing up the fantasy-horror angle for click appeal, while Bollywood Hungama leads with the celebrity witticism of husband Aditya Dhar's playful tease. Koimoi omits the husband's social-media reaction entirely, a detail Bollywood Hungama foregrounds as the story's main hook. The measured read: both sources agree on the release date (October 16, 2026) and core production credits. Koimoi's sensationalist tone overstates the "eerie" element, Bollywood Hungama's neutral-report style treats the poster reveal as a straightforward industry news item with a human-interest garnish. The real takeaway for careful readers is the film's positioning as a Dussehra-weekend family release, targeting a festive audience, a commercial calculation neither source interrogates. Watch for the first trailer drop, likely 3, 4 months before release.
