Yash's Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has sold over 1.62 million tickets in advance, nearing Rs 100 crore in presales, outpacing Dhurandhar 2's final numbers. The Geetu Mohandas-directed film released on Thursday after a delay from its original June 4 date. Early social media reactions are mixed. NDTV reports trade expert predictions of a Rs 300-crore opening weekend, noting the Rs 500-crore budget versus KGF 2's Rs 1,215-crore worldwide gross. Greatandhra.com's first-day report says Yash's screen presence and style win praise, but the screenplay is called weak with limited emotional connect and a strong KGF hangover. The film's portrayal of women has also sparked debate.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

NDTV framed Toxic as a box-office comparison contest before release, emphasising the Rs 500-crore budget and KGF's Rs 1,215-crore earnings while citing a trade expert's prediction of a Rs 300-crore opening weekend. Greatandhra.com's two reports shift focus to actual booking data (1.62 million tickets, nearing Rs 100 crore in presales) but also publish the first-day audience verdict: mixed reactions citing a weak screenplay and KGF hangover. The balanced take is that while advance sales signal strong initial hype, the critical reception suggests Toxic may struggle to match KGF 2's legs unless word-of-mouth improves. Watch the film's opening weekend actuals versus the Rs 300-crore estimate.
