Nitin Mantri, the company’s co-COO, said India is Yokohama’s fourth-largest market after Japan, the US and China. The company runs plants in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, and Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Yokohama India is also in talks with Japanese and Indian automakers to expand its original equipment business, targeting only premium and high-end vehicle segments. It currently gets only 2-3 per cent of revenue from OEMs and aims to reach 10 per cent in five years. MD Harinder Singh said the aftermarket remains the main focus.
