# Delhi teen swept away in drain, search on

A search operation continued on Saturday for 18-year-old Ankit, who was swept away by rainwater in a drain in southeast Delhi's Priyanka Camp area on Friday evening. The Times of India reports that the incident occurred around 8 pm as Ankit, a pantry worker returning from Noida, slipped into the drain near Madanpur Khadar. His friend Manish, 23, witnessed the accident. Rescue teams from the Delhi Disaster Management Authority and the Delhi Fire Service have been searching the drain since Friday night, but Ankit remains untraced. Rediff.com reports that heavy rainfall led to waterlogging and increased drain flow. Last week, three school children were rescued after falling into a drain in north Delhi's Jagatpur, the Times of India adds.
