# YSRCP ex-MLA held after TDP workers clash in Vijayawada protest

Police detained former YSRCP MLA Malladi Vishnu in Vijayawada on Thursday after his party's hunger strike for a CBI inquiry into the DSC-2025 recruitment process led to clashes with TDP workers. TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said the protest tent was blocking traffic; YSRCP workers alleged TDP supporters attacked Vishnu as police took him away. Police also arrested YSRCP's Amadalavalasa in-charge Chintada Ravikumar and 25 others over an alleged confrontation with a woman sub-inspector during former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit last month. YSRCP leaders called the arrests political vendetta.
