# Yuvraj Singh named Delhi Capitals assistant and batting coach 2026-10-13T15:38:49+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Yuvraj Singh has been appointed assistant coach and batting coach of Delhi Capitals for IPL 2027, the franchise announced on Tuesday, 13 October. He will work under head coach Sourav Ganguly, reuniting the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning duo. Yuvraj had earlier played for the franchise in 2015 when it was Delhi Daredevils, for a then-record Rs 16 crore, but was released after one season. Yuvraj said he was excited to start a new chapter with the franchise and to work with Ganguly. Both tv9hindi.com and aajtak.in report he has been mentoring young batsmen such as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. Delhi Capitals have never won an IPL title, they finished runners-up in 2020. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both tv9hindi.com and aajtak.in report the appointment in uniformly celebratory terms, emphasising Yuvraj's past heroics and his mentoring role with young batters. Neither outlet notes any scepticism about his lack of prior franchise coaching experience or questions the timing of the announcement. The coverage is identical wire-style positivity, leaving no framing difference to analyse. The concrete story now is whether Yuvraj's presence, alongside Ganguly, can end Delhi Capitals' title drought in IPL 2027. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - tv9hindi.com (neutral report) Straight announcement with player background, no critical angle - aajtak.in (neutral report) Factual appointment story with mentor profile, no slant This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
