# Karnataka FDA finds expired food at canteens, Zomato warehouse

Karnataka food safety officials have found expired ingredients and hygiene violations at canteens within the Vidhana Soudha and health department headquarters, and at a Hyperpure by Zomato warehouse in Bengaluru. At Arogya Soudha, officials found expired idli rava and coconut powder, and inadequate pest control. At Zomato’s Sakalawara facility, they found 146 kg of chicken without the manufacturer’s FSSAI licence number and mislabelling of 300 kg of rice, 20 kg of dry fruits and 15 kg of spices. In Hyderabad, a separate raid at a Zepto store revealed cobwebs, fungal growth and improper cold storage, Siasat.com reports. The Karnataka health minister said the next phase will target PG accommodations and hostels.
