Alexander Zverev and Montreal local Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top two seeds, exited the ATP Montreal Masters on Wednesday. The Hindustan Times reports that Dutch world number 69 Tallon Griekspoor defeated Zverev 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, while Auger-Aliassime withdrew before his match after hurting his back in training. The tournament had already lost world number one Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic before the event began. Fifth seed and defending champion Ben Shelton beat Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 7-5. Joao Fonseca defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6, 7-5. Taylor Fritz also lost to Argentina’s Thiago Tirante. NDTV Sports additionally lists Daniil Medvedev among the eliminated players, but gives no details of his exit.
