Hyderabad police arrest 10 for gambling, seize cash and casino tokens

Goshamahal police arrested 10 men for an illegal three-card game in Begum Bazar Chatri in the early hours of Sunday. Officers acted on a tip-off, obtained warrants and found the group playing for cash stakes on the fourth floor of a house.

Police seized Rs 1,18,800 in cash, 13 packs of playing cards, casino-style tokens and hookah equipment. Two persons, Shyam Sunder and Ghanshyam Das Karwa, are named as facilitators, siasat.com and telanganatoday.com report. Some of those held have prior cases related to gaming and excise.

A case was registered under the Telangana Gaming Act, the COTPA Act and Section 112(2) of the BNS for petty organised crime. All accused were issued a BNSS notice of appearance instead of immediate arrest.
